Recap: Group Show @ David B. Smith Gallery

We visited Denver this past weekend for a friend’s wedding, and lucky for us, the timing coincided with an opening at David B. Smith Gallery. The gallery had standouts like Kris Lewis, Jason Thielke, and AJ Fosik in its back room, while the front room was dedicated to artists we hadn’t experienced yet.

Recap: Happy Serum @ Starkweather Arts Center

Happy Serum, featuring artwork by Kill Taupe, Heather Hansma and Crystal Mielcarek, debuted earlier this month. Starkweather Arts Center out in Romeo is totally worth the drive, and you should check out the show in person if you can. Our pictures definitely don’t do the work justice. Happy Serum ends next Saturday, June 25th.

Happy Serum opens on June 3 at Starkweather Arts Center

Our friends Kill Taupe, Heather Hansma, and Crystal Mielcarek have a show opening at Starkweather Arts Center in Romeo, Michigan. Entitled “Happy Serum”, the show focuses on happiness,(though perhaps taking a tongue in cheek approach to the subject) something that the artists feel that Metro area seems to be lacking . The show opens on June 3rd and runs through the 25th.

Cuddly Rigor Mortis

I think my favorite piece from the Meth and Hot Dogs 2 show was the piece by Cuddly Rigor Mortis‘ (Kristin Tercek) It’s a Trap. I love how she rendered the moss to look so realistic. Her site is full of clever work featuring her characters.
